COVID-19: $8.36m paid out to affected members

A total of $8.36million has been paid to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) confirmed in a statement issued last night that $1.22m was paid by the Government and $7.14m paid by the Fund.

It stated that out of the 10,670 members who had accessed their funds for COVID-19, a total of 2778 were assisted by the Government.

While processing continues, the Fund is appealing to members to ensure their forms are completed correctly.

Of the applications that have been received, a total of 2431 were because:

  • Member didn’t sign the form
  • Employer didn’t sign or stamp the form
  • Incomplete form – certain sections of the form were not filled by the member
  • Members not submitting the requirements with their completed applications
  • Employers not submitting required documents with the members’ application forms.
