COVID-19: 10 in court for breach

TEN people alleged to have breached the national curfew in the Western Division on Monday were produced at the Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday.

The accused all face a charge each of breaching a lawful order.

Isaia Dau and Ana Waiwalu appeared before Magistrate Sekonaia Vodokisolomone and have both been remanded in custody to reappear on April 4.

Abigail Low and Sainiana Ratu appeared before Nayani Kasturiratne and have been remanded in custody to reappear on April 7, while Anaseini Natoma, who was produced before Magistrate Bandula Gunaratne, was also remanded to reappear on May 14.

Meanwhile, four juveniles were produced before Magistrate Bandula Gunaratne and have all been released on $500 bond with surety.

They have been warned not to re-offend and to follow the 7pm to 6am daily curfew the court has imposed for them until their next court appearance on June 15.
