THE Rewa football side is leaving no stones unturned as preparations for next week’s Courts Inter District Championship continues.
Rewa Youth coach Nigel Khan has been assisting current coach Lorima Dau at training and said it had been so far so good for the Delta tigers.
“The boys have been doing well. We are working on our finishing and combination this week and come next week, we should be ready for our first match against Tavua,” Khan said.
Solomon islanders Charles Otainao and Kelopy Benty with Vanuatu player Tony Kaltack have been training with the team.
Khan said they had been impressive.
“Well, islanders have been known to be good soccer players and the three that we have are really good and are combining really well with the local boys. It will be interesting to see how they do in next week’s tournament,”he added.
Meanwhile, negotiations are still underway to get New Zealand-based Samuela Kautoga before the IDC.
Rewa plays Tavua in the opening match of the tournament at 1.30pm on Friday, after which Labasa battles Nasinu at 3.30pm at Suva’s ANZ Stadium.
At 6pm, Suva battles Nadi while in the feature match of day one, Lautoka takes on Ba at 8pm.
