Court remands grandfather on multiple rape charge

A 64-YEAR-OLD grandfather accused of raping his 12-year-old granddaughter has been remanded by the Nausori Magistrates Court.

The accused appeared this afternoon and is alleged to have committed the offence on several occasions at a settlement between January 2016 to October 2019.

The matter has been transferred to the High Court in Suva.

The matter now will be called again on January 24.
