FORMER permanent secretary in the PM’s office Parmesh Chand and his wife Renu Chand have been commended for starting a major project in Nukuloa, Ba.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday laid the foundation of the building that will have a supermarket, shops and a service station.

“The company behind this project is Nasura Investments PTE Ltd, and Nasura Investments really is Parmesh and Renu Chand, so thank you, Parmesh and Renu — for your vision, energy and hard work,” said Mr Bainimarama.

“I must say that I love the optimism that this project shows in the future of this area and in the future economic prosperity of Fiji.”

The project will be completed in three phases and is supported by landowners from the area.

“Without certainty, we can’t have investments.

“And it is absolutely critical for landowners and entrepreneurs to work together to create that certainty so that everyone can prosper.”
