GOING in as first-timers to the 2020 McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast Sevens, the Natadra 7s team hopes not to disappoint next weekend as 16 men’s teams will go head to head at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

The team was the defending champion of the Savusavu Sevens and the Fiji Bitter Gaunavou Sevens last year.

Team manager Viliame Daugunu said the players were motivated to give a good performance at the tournaments after an unsuccessful outing at the Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens last year.

“We took part in past local sevens events since we started the club two years ago. We have been improving in our performance. We did not do well during the Marist Sevens last year so we are hoping to come back stronger this year at the Coral Coast Sevens,” said Daugunu.

Natadra Sevens team is pooled with Tabadamu, USA Falcons and Stallions.

“The team is looking forward to the battles ahead and we have been preparing for a while now. We have dedicated players in the team.”

The McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast Sevens will be held on January 15 to 18 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka.

Meanwhile, former Flying Fijians winger Rupeni Caucau is expected to be one of the main guests of the event.
