Fiji is working towards expanding an inclusive and broad-based economy.

This, said Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, adding the South Pacific island nation was also building on sustainable blue and green economic models, using nature-based technologies and solutions and accelerating the move to net-zero carbon emissions.

Mr Bainimarama made this known at his meeting with the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, on the margins of the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow.

And at that meeting, he acknowledged the Prince of Wales’ leadership and commitment towards the protection of biodiversity and in returning the planet to a path of stability.

Mr Bainimarama said Fiji had set its path to create a sustainable economy that could accommodate a dynamic private sector and investors, facilitate capital and new technology, and support diversification into new sectors, all of which feed into the global value chain.
