Contract work – LETTER OF THE WEEK ENDING 15/01/18

Both our Kings and Queens highways have been dramatically upgraded within the past five years.
The respective contracted works were carried out by overseas civil contractors with the help of local subcontractors.
It would be sensible for the government of the day to contract the side clearance activities to villages situated along both high-ways.
Each village to be tasked with respect to their own boundaries.
Such exercise should provide a financial platform for the villages and simultaneously empowering them with pride and ownership.
This would be a win-win government “self-help project” that should last a very long time- if carefully managed.
