Consultation on new Savusavu market

Minister for Local Government, Premila Kumar, held a consultation at the Cakaudrove Provincial Administrator’s Office with the Savusavu market vendors and Savusavu business community on the new proposed Municipal Market in Savusavu.

The Fijian Government, through the Ministry of Local Government, which is the leading agent, is working in partnership with UNWOMEN in delivering this project.

“We are all here to discuss the new concept that we have developed for the Savusavu Municipal Market, we will take you through this concept and show you exactly what the market will look like,” said Minister Kumar.

“At the end of this consultation, we want you all to feel that this project is yours. The market should be fit for purpose, fit for the vendors and comfortable too. Similarly, it should be good for the consumers and the tourists who visit Savusavu Town.”

After the consultation, many of the market vendors were very delighted with the new proposal and most of them are looking forward to its completion.
