EVER wondered what it would like to be among the big international names in golf, such as the Fiji-born major champion Vijay Singh?
Well here is your chance to experience this and be part of the Fiji International, one of the region’s largest international sporting and golfing events.
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism yesterday launched the Fijian Made Inner Sanctum Competition that would also be run in conjunction with the Fiji International offering lucky Fijians a chance to be exclusively part of this event.
While launching the competition, Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism Faiyaz Koya has urged Fijians to submit entries, getting as many friends and families involved.
“To enter, all you have to do is post a picture of yourself or a selfie holding a product showing an emblem under the Buy Fijian Made campaign onto the Fijian Made Facebook page using the #FijianMade #FijiInternational or #FijiNow,” Mr Koya said.
“This year the ministry has committed to providing our Fijian Made fans bigger and better prizes. With the support of the Fiji International, we have as the major prize a one night accommodation at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa and exclusive VIP passes to the Fiji International.”
This means that winning entries from the competition will get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Fiji International as well as VIP access to the corporate entertainment areas.
The competition, which has been run by the ministry for the past two years, is part of the Fijian Government’s initiatives to grow local awareness of the Fiji International event and the Buy Fijian Made program.
“The unique feature now, is once you enter, you will have to solicit enough likes for your entry to win this competition,” Mr Koya said.
The Fijian Made Inner Sanctum Competition that will also run in conjunction with the Fiji International road show around Viti Levu where members of the public can make their entries.
The Fiji International will be held from 17 to 20 August and will be played at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course which boasts breathtaking views of the Coral Coast and home to the Natadola Beach Land Estate.
Mr Koya added that this tournament was also expected to boost sports tourism, particularly with the Asian market after the Fiji International’s new tri-sanctioning partnership with the Asian tour.
