The people on Taveuni are urged to attend the public consultations on the Electoral Amendment Bill 2020, Electoral Registration of Voters Amendment Bill 2020, and the Political Parties Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures Amendment Bill 2020.

Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights Alvick Maharaj said the consultation was important and people should submit their views on the proposed ammendment Bills.

“The response so far has been great especially from rural areas we have visited and we’re encouraged to see the different responses coming in,” Mr Maharaj said.

The consultations will be held in Somosomo Village today at 4pm and at Vuna Village on Thursday at 11am.
