POLICE Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has issued a stern warning to any person who breaches the COVID-19 restrictions that are in place.

In a statement issued yesterday, he said police would not take the breaching of self-isolation lightly.

“Anyone found breaching the self-isolation period as directed by the Ministry of Health and Services are warned that they will be placed back in isolation and once cleared will be taken straight into police custody, charged and produced in court if they fail to adhere,” he said.

He made the comment in the wake of revelations that a woman in her 60s was processed and would be taken for questioning once she cleared the 14-day mandatory self-isolation period for an alleged case of disobedience of lawful order.
