Colo-i-Suva ruggers receive timely sporting gear boost

Boost for Colo-i-Suva Rugby Club yesterday when they were outfitted with playing uniforms by their sponsors Flame Tree Development (Fiji) Ltd.

The assistance for the village-based team which consisted of jerseys, shorts and socks, was presented by the company’s director, Glenn Wakeman. The handover was attended by the players, management and some village elders.

“It is a proud moment for the club to be assisted by Flame Tree Development because our players stay in the village and they have limited resources to buy team uniform. They have worked hard over the years to buy their uniform, but this assistance will make them to play with pride and help expose some rugby talents that we have.”

The club was formed in 1996. They made headlines few weeks later when they won the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s. The club, which has moved to Nasinu Rugby Union from Naitasiri Rugby Union, has produced national 7s reps like Sakiusa Bai, Meli Nayacalevu who now lives in New Zealand, and Livai Ikanikoda.
