MEMBERS of the public are being advised that the Colasi Bridge on Saju Road in Rakiraki will be further closed until November 24, 2019.
The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) in a statement stated that initial works carried out on November 2 were routine maintenance works involving the replacement of damaged runners and decking timber.
“Upon the removal of the existing decking, it was determined that the steel beams also required strengthening works,” the FRA stated.
“The strengthening works will be executed in the next 10 days and the bridge is planned for reopening on November 24, 2019.”
The public is advised to use the detour route via Colasi Mandir Road to access Rakiraki Access Road.
