THE Ba football side has stepped up intensity in preparation as the 2019 Pillay Garments Champion versus Champion (CvC) series gets ready to roll this Friday.
Being the defending champion, coach Ronil Kumar said their focus remains on getting the title back to Ba.
“Knowing that we are only three days away from the first game, we are doing everything that we can in our training sessions to get the team ready,” Kumar said.
“For every defending champion of any title, the main focus would be the title defense.
“I thank my coaching partner master Shalen Lal for working together in preparing our team for this series and the first for this year.”
Kumar is calling out for the fans to come in numbers as he believes the fans’ support is also a motivating factor for the players.
“I would like to call out for the Ba fans to come in numbers and support our boys when we take field this Friday.
“Support from the fans is also a big motivating factor when the players are already in field and I know our loyal fans will come down at Churchill Park to cheer for our boys.”
Ba defeated Lautoka (1-0 and 2-1) in the two-match series to lift the CvC title for 2018 season.
The Men in Black hosts Labasa in the first match to be played at 7pm in Lautoka this Friday before the Babasiga Lions hosting the second leg at 3pm in Nausori on Sunday.
