Coach McKee: More workload for backline

FLYING Fijians head coach John McKee is focusing on their defence as they prepare for their game against Tonga next week.
McKee said for the remaining days left before the clash in Auckland, they would be putting a lot of workload on their backline.
“At this moment we are focusing on our own game and it’s about our execution and certainly as we go next week against Tonga we will be employing some of the tactics that we will use against Australia but we’re not going to show them everything,” he said.
“We are putting more pressure on defence and getting them to put more pressure on the attack so that we can execute our game plan when we’re under pressure and the training was full on contact.
“That sort of pressure is what we have to put ourselves under so that we can execute our plays. Probably I was disappointed that we turned over some ball we weren’t patience enough during training.”
McKee said they had seen the way Australia and Wales play and certainly they would be expecting something out of the ordinary from the Fijian team but as they gear up for the Rugby World Cup they would do the talking on the field.
“Before we go to the world cup we will have something’s up on our sleeves and we will be expecting tough competition.
“For us at this point of our campaign it’s about us and how we play and how we get the basics and the game right and keep our error rate down.”
He added that captain Dominiko Waqaniburotu is surrounded by players who respect him as a captain and help him.
“We have a wider leadership group that looks into certain areas and they all play an important role in the team.”
