Coach humbled to win gold at the Pacific Games

FIJI Pearls head coach Kate Carpenter is humbled to be part of the gold medal winning team at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.
She said the experience of winning the gold medal was special.
“It was a fantastic experience for us as a team and a special achievement for me personally to be part of the winning team,” said Carpenter.
“We, didn’t drop a game and its really exciting to attain our status as the best in the Oceania region.
“Playing PNG in the final was tough with the backing of their home fans and it all comes down to mental toughness.”
Carpenter said the next assigment is to tackle the Silver Ferns later this week.
The side will march into camp this afternoon to prepare for the New Zealand tour.
Carpenter said the team would be joined by Unaisi Rauluni and Jane Costello.
