THE Fiji men’s 7s side has its work cut out as they prepare for this weekend’s Dubai tournament.

Coach Ben Gollings is aware of the task on hand and has eyed out areas of weakness which the team has been working on.

“The big issue is the game management, management of those important periods of the game and also game awareness,” the Englishman said.

“So we have discussed a lot of that and we have been building on it in our training.”The all-time top points scorer on the World Rugby Sevens Series added that it was the players’ individual and team awareness that they have been working on.

“It’s both the individual awareness and the collective team awareness. We can just keep building on the experiences which are really important.”

Fiji is in Pool B with New Zealand, Argentina and Uruguay. Gollings says it will never be easy getting out of the pool with the tough names in it.

“The target is to come out on top of this pool and if we do that we set ourselves up well. I think it will be very exciting.”

Fiji’s first game is against Uruguay at 8.12pm on Friday before we face New Zealand at 11.11pm. Our last pool match is against Argentina at 5.05am on Saturday.
