THE Bureta football club which comprises of majority Suva football team players and Police football club will use the National Club Championship as a build up towards the Pacific Cup in Australia later this month.

The Bureta FC has the services of most Suva players and they will need to impress the Suva coaching staff in order to claim a spot in the 18 member squad that will be travelling to Australia.

Bureta FC official and Suva team president Ritesh Prasad said the club championship is a testing ground for the players before the final 18 is selected.

“We got 22 players but we will only take 18, so if the players want to go to the Pacific Cup they need to fight for their positions,” Prasad said.

“We have 11 Suva football reps in the starting lineup band three from the outside clubs and this will be a good build towards the Pacific Cup.

Meanwhile the Combine Brothers of Suva  defeated the Buiduna FC of Tailevu Naitasiri 1-0.
