Singh Physiotherapy Clinic has become the first private medical clinic to offer Vodafone’s M-PAiSA QR Pay for its customers.

According to clinic director Ruben Singh, the majority of their patients were above 40 years of age who often did not carry cash with them.

He added payments were usually done by patients’ children and with QR Pay, this method would bring some ease to them.

“In this case, what we can do is that the children can pay from their home while their parents are here doing their physiotherapy,” said Mr Singh.

“For the Fiji market, we are seeing that everyone is going cashless now, they don’t want to carry money any more, so one option would be the Visa cards and it’s hard to get a Visa card these days.

“For M-PAiSA, you just register your number, deposit money and you can use that to pay your bills or you can use that for seeing a physiotherapist as well.”

Mr Singh said since it would become easier to pay, he hoped this would attract more customers who wanted to go cashless, pay instantly or those who may not want to carry money.

With QR Pay, he says they will only need to carry their phones when they come for their physiotherapy sessions.

“We notice that phones are the most essential thing right now in 2020, there are people who usually forget things. One thing for certain is they will never forget their phones and if you have money in your M-PAiSA, you can do cashless transactions.”

Mr Singh has been operating his clinic for two years, relocating from Nadera to Nabua.

“So we got this place, it’s a very good location and it’s on the Suva to Nausori corridor which makes it accessible.

“Business is going well right now and with QR, we can attract more customers,” he said.

According to junior physiotherapist Amit Mishra, most of the clients usually come in for either back pain or stroke.

He added older patients faced lower and upper back pains.

The clinic also assists athletes with injuries and who were trying to get back to their daily sporting activities.
