CLIMATE change scientist Professor Patrick Nunn says there is still a lack of understanding in the communities about climate change issues.
Therefore, he believes that there is still a lot to do with awareness outreach to ensure that everyone knows what climate change is about.
“Awareness of climate change is a huge issue in Fiji and other Pacific Island countries and the fact is that many people don’t know what climate change is about,” he said.
“I find that a lot when I visit communities around the country with people who don’t understand climate change and they don’t get the point that it’s a long term impact that can happen in the next 20 to 50 years or so.
