FIJIAN rugby fans will have the opportunity to watch Australian rugby legends next month when the Classic Wallabies take on the Fiji Legends.

The two teams will play in a curtain-raiser match to the National Rugby Championship (NRC) fixture between Fiji Drua and Melbourne Rising at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, on Saturday, September 1.

The star-studded Classic Wallabies will include Fiji-born Samu Kerevi, Radike Samo and Lote Tuqiri who will be accompanied by retired Australian greats Stephen Moore and Rob Horne, as well as Wallaby-capped Melbourne Rebels star Laurie Weeks.

Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes said the players conduct rugby clinics for students at Cuvu College and Sigatoka Special School.

“Australia and Fiji share a love of rugby. Australian fans are captivated by the athleticism, skills and flair of Fijian players right through from the grassroots game all the way to the Wallabies, Australian teams are studded with Fijian stars.” Feakes said.

Meanwhile, three more players will be confirmed in the Aussie team later.
