EXHIBITIONS like these are not only great for the display of what women can make, but also an opportunity for participants to interact with each other.

This was the message relayed by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa during the opening of the LDS Women’s Handicraft Show at Samabula today.

Mrs Vuniwaqa congratulated the LDS Church for recognizing the need to the women of their church.

“Today’s event is one such platform, giving recognition to our women’s talents and skills, and harnessing opportunities for further economic empowerment,” she said.

She said expos of this nature were also a means of encouragement for the women who may have not realized their potential yet.

“Undoubtedly, the benefits of good things are greater when they have a rippling effect,” she said.
