Christchurch terrorist attack saddens Sikh community

THE Sikh community in Fiji have joined the masses in grieving the death of 50 people who lost their lives in a terrorist attack at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Sikh Association of Fiji president Bayant Singh said they were deeply saddened by the horrific attack that claimed the lives of Muslims and injured many others.

“This is a massacre of human principle and humanity at large,” he said.

“We are deeply saddened by this attack on our Islamic brothers and sisters and we pray for peace in these trying times.

“All god fearing people are saddened by this tragic event and we want to join our brothers and sisters in the Muslim community in mourning the loss of their people.

“The whole is grieving with them.”

Three Fijians were among the dead.
