USE your voice on social media platforms to stand in solidarity with New Zealand as they recover from what will go down in history as one of its darkest days, says Online Safety Commission commissioner Anne Dunn Baleilevuka.

“My thoughts and prayers goes out to the families of those who lost their loved ones by this horrific and senseless act of violence,” she said.

“Truly, Friday would have been one of the darkest days for our neighbouring country as what took place in Christchurch began to unfold. Use your voice, online or offline, to spread hope, solidarity and empathy with the unfolding of one of New Zealand’s darkest days.”

Mrs Baleilevuka urged all Fijians to refrain from spreading invalidated reports on the victims.

“This is an act that has devastated our neighbouring country and I would encourage us to stand with our New Zealand brothers and sisters in prayer and use social media to encourage one another and sharing our empathy.”
