FIJIANS of Chinese origin yesterday gathered at the Suva Civic Centre to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama commended the Chinese community’s contribution to the nation’s economy.

As part of the event, China’s top acrobats and theatre performers, Yunnan Art Troupe, displayed classical dances.

President of the Chinese Association of Fiji, Jenny Seeto said it was a joy to see people from all walks of life attending the event.
