FIJI’S Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation is concerned with those children who sell food late at night in Suva city.
These students have been spotted loitering Sukuna Park with backpacks filled with food parcels to sell.
Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa said the ministry would only get involved in the case if those students were neglected from their homes.
“As you know, our child services unit looks after children who have been neglected by their families. So if there is an element of neglect, that’s when we come in,” Mrs Vuniwaqa said.
