REWA paramount chief Ro Teimumu Kepa believes that the future of Rewa lies in the hands of its children.

Speaking to this newspaper during the opening of the Rewa Day celebration at Syria Park in Nausori yesterday, Ro Teimumu said the main objective of the Rewa Day was for the scholarships for students from the province and funding for the running of the provisional council offices and the vanua.

“We are just asking parents to be mindful of what the children are doing because they are the future of Rewa,” she said.

“We would like to ask the people of Rewa, while they are here to support the work of the vanua and the work of the church because these are two entities that will look after us in the future, there are so many things coming into our lives especially with children.”

The Rewa Day ends today.
