Chief’s final resting place at Vuniduva

Former commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and honorary colonel of the 3rd Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment, Brigadier General (retired) Ratu Epeli Gavidi Ganilau, will be laid to rest today at Vuniduva, Somosomo, Taveuni.

He was honoured with a funeral service at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua, Suva on Wednesday. He had a long and distinguished career in the RFMF, having enlisted in 1972 at the age of 21.

The funeral service was attended by dignitaries, including the Commander-in-Chief and President of the Republic of Fiji,the former presidents of Fiji, and former commanders of RFMF, the commander and senior officers of the RFMF, and the Ganilau family.
