Chand rules snooker

NITESH Chand took out the BSP Life-sponsored weekly Snooker Dozen Championship at the Lautoka Club.

Chand defeated rising star Vikrant Sharma in the two frame aggregate final.

In the semi-finals, Chand defeated Philip Gock while Sharma downed Shalend Gounder.

The weekly league is held to give the players more game time to keep in shape for the zonal and national championships.

The snooker dozen is one of the abbreviated codes of the game where only six red balls are used.

The format is faster with a high level accuracy required in potting.

Meanwhile the Lautoka District Championship will be held at the Lautoka Club on April 14.

The knockout snooker event sponsored by Western Customs Brokers (Lautoka) Ltd is restricted to players who are bona fide members of the various clubs in the Sugar City. Entry fee is $10.
