Champion loses again

DEFENDING champions ANZ suffered another defeat in the Business House Lawn Bowls competition on Thursday at the Suva Bowling Club greens to slip to fifth place in their pool.

The upset 9-15 loss to Bank of Baroda leaves the side with four points from the games they played.

Competition sponsors Humes also went down in a surprise 13-16 loss to FDB II.

FDB II now leads section B with eight points from four wins.

Section A is being led by Geotech who have six points from three wins and a loss.

The side beat Standard Concrete 16-10 on Thursday.

Rena Distributers also have six points from three wins and a loss but are behind on points difference.

Club manager Sanjeevan Nair said the competition was now in the business end with three more rounds of competition remaining.

He said teams would be gunning for wins to get their title hopes back on track.
