OPPOSITION Member of Parliament Mosese Bulitavu says this year was a challenging year for him and his family.

Mr Bulitavu was earlier convicted for sedition and was jailed for more than two years.

However, after a successful appeal, his conviction was quashed and a retrial was ordered on the grounds that there was a miscarriage of justice in his case.

In his maiden speech in Parliament, Mr Bulitavu said 2018 was hard a time for his family because of his transition through Parliament, court, prison and now back to Parliament.

He also thanked his father who was his campaign manager in the lead up to the 2018 General Election, his family, his supporters and his inmates prayer group at the Nasinu Corrections Centre for their support that earned him a seat in Parliament after the election.

He said the inmates prayer group had been praying for his purpose.
