Government is planning to hold a grand celebration and traditional welcoming ceremony for the delegation arriving from COP23.
What is it that we are celebrating? Presidency? Riding bicycles through the city?
Sending an almost 100-member delegation? Why did Government not hold something similar when Peter Thompson took over the presidency for United Nations General Assembly?
The question is what is the point?
I believe Government needs to seriously look at how they are prioritising their work.
I believe people and students are still in tents, get them out of the tents first!
I believe the allocated $35,000 can be used for something useful that could benefit the people especially those still picking up the pieces from Cyclone Winston, otherwise, it is unnecessary and a waste of money!
