Update: 6:31PM THE first gathering of technical experts of the Climate Action Pacific Partnership (CAPP) Technical Expert Meeting which was organised by the COP23 High-Level Champion wrapped up last Friday.
In his closing remarks, Ratu Tui Cavuilati the Roving Ambassador to the Pacific told the participants that they have started again on the road to fulfilling what is required of them in their different sectors to make the Climate Action Pacific Partnership an effective vehicle for driving climate action in the Pacific and for the benefit of Fijians.
“I am happy just as well to see forthrightness and straight talk with respect by most of you and in the true spirit of Talanoa to clear the air and dispel the doubts, all with the one and shared motive which is to protect and to help our Pacific village and peoples from the vagaries of climate change,” Ratu Tui said.
He also congratulated them for the outstanding outomes at the meeting
“You shared a wealth of information and valuable recommendations on Pacific issues relevant for the Technical Examination Process this year,” he said.
“This is an important process for supporting pre-2020 Action which we in the Pacific recognise as necessary.”
