TWO Suva players; utility Sakaraia Naisua and defender Waisake Navunigasau, had been suspended and dropped from the Capital City’s Inkk Battle of the Giants squad this weekend because of disciplinary issues.
The duo was handed their marching orders by the Suva team management before the Whites were to play hosts Labasa at Subrail Park last night. Suva Football Association president Ritesh Pratap said: “We have suspended Naisua because of disciplinary issues when he did not attend training.
He never gave us any feedback, so we had to drop him and suspend him. For Navunigasau, he was dropped from the squad today (yesterday) for disciplinary issues,” Pratap said.
He said the duo’s suspension would not affect the team’s performance in Labasa.
“We have got other players who can fill those positions. I am very disappointed with Navunigasau because he was eager to play, given that he was out of soccer for six months. We could see that he was eager to play, but I wonder what happened with him and why he never came to camp today.”
