“DON’T be afraid, you are not alone,” says Reshmi Lata, a cancer survivor.

In sharing her story at the Ministry of Health’s Pinktober event in Labasa, Ms Lata encouraged everyone to fight cancer.

“Cancer is not a killer and we are here to fight it,” she said.

“Don’t be afraid. Stay positive and live like a normal person.”

Ms Lata was diagnosed with breast cancer that had reached stage four.

“I wasn’t frightened but went through the process and I am still surviving and am happy.”

Another survivor Mitieli Baravi who suffers from colorectal cancer believes God has kept him alive since 2016.

“I changed my diet and I only eat vegetables and fruits and the love of God has kept me well.”
