FORMER Fiji Airways Fiji 7s player Apisai Domolailai was among the 203 new recruits for the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces passing-out parade yesterday.
Speaking to this newspaper he said the training he endured for the basic recruit was different from his training experience with the sevens side.
“It’s a lot tougher, we have to wake up early and we don’t eat much, there isn’t a lot of time to recover, but I endured the training all thanks to the support from Isake Katonibau. He has encouraged me throughout the 12 weeks,” Domolailai said.
He also said Fiji had a very robust side going into the Rugby World Cup Sevens that would be held in San Francisco later this month.
“We have a lot of talented players who are in the current team and I wish them all the best for the upcoming world cup. I also urge all of us here in Fiji to support and pray for our boys,” he said.
Domolailai was part of the Fiji 7s team that won the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil.
The lanky Nadroga man made his debut for Fiji in 2012.
