Call for professional leadership

THERE is a growing need for professionals and business leaders to take the lead and demonstrate their expertise as leaders in their community, their business and in the country, says Certified Practising Accountants Australia-Fiji branch president Ravendran Achari.
He said leaders must have an honest understanding of who they were, what they knew and what they could do.
“Leading has and continues to be about grasping the trade-offs between today’s needs and tomorrow’s priorities,” he said yesterday at the two-day CPA Congress on Denarau.
“Leading with speed is what is required in this highly globalised environment and CPA is well placed to handle this, noting and appreciating that different people require different styles of leadership.”
He said speakers at the sixth CPA congress presented diverse perspectives of strategic and commercial excellence, importance of leadership diversity, global competitiveness, and how to adapt and improvise in an ever-changing world.
Mr Achari said the CPA Australia Congress was the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
