Cabinet ministers sworn-in

TWELVE ministers and eight assistant ministers were sworn in at Government House by President Jioji Konrote this morning.
They were led by Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who retained his ministerial portfolio as the Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Public Enterprises, Civil Service and Communications.
Inia Seruiratu is the Minister for Defence and National Security.
Premila Devi Kumar is the Minister Industry, Trade, Tourism, Local Government, Housing and Community Development and will be assisted by Vijay Nath.
Praveen Kumar is the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations and Youth and Sports and will be assisted by Alvick Maharaj.
Dr Mahendra Reddy is the Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development, Waterways and Environment and will be assisted by Viam Pillay and Jale Sigarara.
Mereseini Vuniwaqa is the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation and will be assisted by Veena Bhatnagar.
Ashneel Sudhakar is the Minister for Lands and Mineral Resoures.
Osea Naiqamu is the Minister for Forestry.
Semi Koroilavesau is the Minister for Fisheries.
Jone Usamate is the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Services.
Rosy Akbar is the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts and will be assisted Joseph Nand.
Medical practitioner, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete is the new Minister for Health and Medical Services and will be assisted by Alexander O’Connor.
George Veganathan was sworn in as the assistant minister to the Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Sugar Industry.
