Businessman fronts court for alleged deception

A BUSINESSMAN appeared before Suva Magistrate Waleen George this afternoon charged with two counts of obtaining goods by deception.
Fifty-year-old Mohammed Kannukarathi is alleged to have obtained goods valued at $6322.88 from RB Patel Supermarket by presenting a dishonoured cheque on May 22, 2015, in Suva.
Defence lawyer Andrew Liverpool applied for bail, which has been granted.
Mr Kannukarathi has been bailed in the sum of $200.
The matter has been adjourned to August 27 for plea.
