Bureta records win

ALL Freight Logistics Bureta thrashed Narere Bus Addisbrough 4-0 in the Suva Football Association local league yesterday.

Suva utility Waisake Navunigasau, Vineet Nadan and Apete Koronivalu (2) scored in the clash at Buckhurst Grounds which helped Bureta notch its fifth consecutive win of the season and book a spot in the quarter-finals.

Bureta also had the services of Suva reps Tomasi Uculoa, Poasa Bainivalu and Sahil Dave. The side leads pool A with a maximum of 15 points.

President Sunil Karan said the side was looking forward to the quarter-finals.

“We played well. Addisbrough is a good,” he said.

“We led 1-0 at halftime and scored three goals in the second half. Fitness level of the players was the decisive factor otherwise both teams were evenly matched in all aspects.”

Bureta recorded win over Cunningham 7-1, South Sea Logistics Baniwai 2-0, Police 4-0 and Central Meads 3-0 this season.

In another match played at Bidesi Park, Professional Security Civic beat Vunidilo 2-1. Fiji U23 captain Rusiate Matarerega and Suva left back Dave Radrigai scored for Civic. Rahul Prasad netted for Vunidilo.

Civic had the services of a number of household names such as former Suva captain Esava Naqeleca, who is making a return from injury, Maciu Dunadamu, Napolioni Qasevakatini, Pita Rabo, Kolinio Sivoki and Jale Dreloa.

Civic is the defending champion of the Suva local league and Fiji Football Association National Club Championship.
