HER passion and dedication for Fiji’s tourism industry started from her teenage days.

That passion has paid off for Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort front office manager Salote Naisua when she was recently nominated as the resort’s Bulanaire.

“Working for the tourism industry comes with its challenges but it is something I have fallen in love with more than 20 years ago,” Ms Naisua said.

“To be named a Bulanaire is indeed an honour and a privilege.

“Tourism is something that is within me and I believe this is an added bonus for what I do every day.”

Ms Naisua has been at the helm of guest service at the five-star Coral Coast resort for more than two decades and perks of her daily chores are to ensure guests enjoy the total service package the resort has to offer.

Greeting tourists from around the globe is at the helm of her daily routine works and she enjoys what she does best at the Outrigger Resort.

“Outrigger has given me the courage to continue what I do best and I thank my managers and superiors for believing in me all these years.

“I guess being a Bulanaire is part of the package to deliver to the world what Fiji is all about.

“It is about telling the world who and what we really are as the Fijian people.”

Ms Naisua said this new role would allow her to market not just Outrigger Resort but the country as a whole.

Meanwhile, those who have been named in phase two of Fiji’s Bulanaires campaign will be introduced at this weekend’s Fiji Hotel and Tourism Awards in Nadi.
