The Digicel Fiji football team marched back into camp at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba yesterday.

Head Coach Flemming Serritslev said this was a continuation from where they left off in the last camp a week ago.

He said the newest addition to the side is the young utility Nabil Begg from Ba FC.

“We remain focused for the World Cup Qualifiers in Qatar next year and we will definitely make the best use of the limited time we have for preparation,” Serritslev said.

“Nabil is a new inclusion in our extended squad. He was already named for our last camp, but he could not join because he was not fully vaccinated.

“Now, he will be joining in every afternoon sessions since he is also a school student.”

Serritslev said one of the major downfalls they had was not being able to play international matches because of the strict COVID-19 measures in place.

“I really would like to have some international matches in order to measure where we stand.

“It’s unfortunate that we are not able to play, but definitely we will be looking at the January FIFA window to arrange some matches.”
