GOVERNMENT will begin public consultations on the 2023-24 national budget next month.
And Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka has urged tourism stakeholders to contribute and work with the current government administration considering the critical role tourism plays in the local economy.
“We will host the National Economic Summit and bring back a Tourism Convention and we will create a level playing field to encourage smaller operators, resource owners establish new experiences,” Mr. Gavoka informed operators at the recent AZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards gala dinner.
“We will inculcate at the core of our policies elements of sustainability and we will carry our tourism brand to new markets and ensure our benefits are genuinely equitable.
“The People Coalition’s Government places the highest priority on genuine dialogue.
“I know those who stood here before me have shared Fiji’s record-breaking economic growth and the achievements of Government.
But I’m not here to do that. I’m here to share what we intend to do.”
Mr Gavoka also reminded stakeholders that their views matter and they matter to the government as well.
