2019 Pacific Games double gold medallist Matelita Buadromo has been ruled out of contention for the Olympic Games.

Swimming Fiji president Ben Rova confirmed the decision after an injury ruled out the star swimmer.

“Matelita Buadromo has pulled out because she has an injury,” Rova said.

“Because of her injury, and in need for her recovery she is taking a medical break.”

“Unfortunately we have to make this hard decision now, but we are confident the she will come back stronger.
Rova said with her injury her medical timeline dictates she will be out of the water for a period of six months thus ruling her out of the Olympic Games time qualifiers to be held in Suva in December.
