Bua takes top spot in snooker seedings

EPELI Bua has been ranked as the top seed for the Credit Corporation sponsored Six Reds Snooker Championship in Nadi this weekend.

Bua is in sharp form representing the Simla Dragons in the Foodhall Supermarket/Coastal Rentals North West League competition.

Viliame Umu will defend the title. Tony Cen the 2013 winner and Isireli Kaci the 2012 winner will be amongst the favourites.

Billiards and Snooker Association of Fiji vice president Rimal Narayan said the Nadi Sports Club was the main venue but some matches would be played at the Nadi Club as well.

Narayan said the format of the tournament would be drawn up after the confirmation of the entries.

“The association would like to thank Credit Corporation for the continued support,” he said.

“Also Mid-West Group has come on board as another sponsor. Strict dress code will apply.”

The Six Reds is the abbreviated code of snooker and has become popular in the country since its introduction a few years ago.

The tournament will also feature other renowned players including Deepak Jai Ram, Pritesh Khatri, Mahen Deo, Yogen Prasad, Rahil Prasad, Ismail Wali, Ali Boy, Sahil Prasad, Suresh Chauhan, Mosese Nawaqakuta, Nitesh Chand and Walter Robinson.

Meanwhile the Dragons lead the North West Snooker League competition. In its last match, the Dragons defeated South Seas Club 5-1.
