MORE than 160 members of the Bryson family converged at Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour for four days for a family reunion.

The reunion started on Tuesday and concluded last night with family performances and dinner.

Family member Edward Bull said the reunion took place from October 16-19.

“The family gathered on Tuesday for a group picture followed by a kava ceremony at which the family elder, Roy Bryson , 76, was the chief guest. Family members then introduced themselves to the whole group,” Mr Bull said.

He said a reunion committee was formed to organise the event consisting of himself, Doreen Culliver, Viti Whippy and Sydel Whippy.

He added the family history started with his great-grandfather, Thomas Baird Bryson, who arrived in Fiji in the 19th century; and since then the family members had spread to the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Samoa and Cook Islands.
