TOULON-based Fijian brothers Josua Tuisova and Filipe Nakosi have been impressive in the France Top 14 competition and are likely to secure their spots in the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians side for the end of the year Europe tour.
Tuisova has been playing at centre while Nakosi has donned his brother’s favourite number 14 jumper partnering former All Blacks winger Julian Savea on the wing.
Flying Fijians head coach John Mckee said he was impressed with the brothers’ form during his recent tour to Europe.
He said he wanted to select a good team for the end of the year Europe tour and would later consider the brothers’ selection chances.
“Tuisova has been playing at centre and his brother has been impressive on the wing,” said McKee.
“I have also looked at other Fijian boys in Europe and will see the Drua players and other Fijian boys playing elsewhere before naming the team.
“I have also had talks with the European clubs on the release of their players for the Europe tour.”
McKee said former Fiji 7s captain Levani Botia had successfully recovered from injury. “It is good to see Botia back from injury and he will be considered for selection when the team is named,” McKee said.
Other European-based Fijian players likely to get the nod include Semi Radradra, Nemani Nadolo, Jale Vatubua, Timoci Nagusa, Vereniki Goneva, Ben Volavola, Viliame Mata, Peceli Yato, Leone Nakarawa, Kini Murimurivalu, Peni Ravai, Akapusi Qera, Semi Kunatani and Apisome Ratuniyarawa. Drua players likely to get the nod include Mosese Voka, Alivereti Veitokani, Frank Lomani, Serupepeli Vularika, Ratunaisa Navuma and Joeli Veitayaki.
Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales, Uruguay and Georgia at the Rugby World Cup to be held in Japan next year.
