“IF you come to power, please don’t take away the link Fiji has with the British royal family.”

This was the plea of Inoke Nodra to Social Democratic Liberal Party leader, Sitiveni Rabuka during an election campaign rally at Tamavua village in Naitasiri last night.

He said Fiji was under the British colonial rule for many decades and it still remained in the heart of many Fijians.

“There were many attempts to fully take away the links we have the British royal family, like what we did with our currency and please if you come to power don’t take away the union jack featured on our national flag, this is something that needs to remain for our future generation to know,” Mr Rabuka added.
