Bright future for China and the Pacific: Princess Salote

THE Pacific China Friendship Association (PCFA) patron – the Princess Royal Her Royal Highness Princess Salote Pilolevu Tuita was present for the high level signing of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement with the Pacific Islands Development Forum today.

Princess Salote highlighted the importance of the agreement saying the future was bright for both associations and the relationship would grow from strength to strength.

“This very important cooperation agreement enables PCFA to utilise member countries to forge a relationship with PIDF that is going to reach the grassroots level in all Pacific islands,” the Princess Royal said.

PIDF secretary general Francois Martel said this arrangement would create a new partnership between the two associations in working together to promote friendship and understanding between China and the Pacific.

“It also allows both organisations to collaborate on the Belt and road initiative across Pacific islands in support of the green blue economy in the spirit of friendship and projects of mutual interest,” Mr Martel said.

Her Royal Highness was also presented with a gift from the Secretary General PIDF during the signing.
